My life is a great adventure and I want to be able to appreciate every moment. Taking life one day at a time provides me the opportunity to do this. I let go of worrying about the past or the future and immerse myself in the present day.

Each morning, as the dawn brings me a new day, I look forward with excitement to living with purpose. Each day brings me new opportunities. It’s like I get a fresh start on life every morning, and I love this feeling!

I make no pre-suppositions about what the day will bring. If it brings challenges, I know I have the confidence to find solutions to overcome them. If it brings pleasant things, I can enjoy them and be grateful for their presence.

Living my life one day at a time also gets me through the hard times in my life. If it’s a particularly difficult day, I remind myself that, “This, too, shall pass,” and I know that it is only one step – one day – in my life’s journey.

I make the best of every day, for I know that I will not have this opportunity again. When I make a conscious effort to take advantage of everything each day brings, I find that there are more and more great days after that!

Making a habit of taking life one day at a time reduces my stress, makes my life more exciting, and brings me more joy than anything else I could do.

Today, I choose to let the past stay in the past, let the future bring what it may, and immerse myself in this present day.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. Do I live my life one day at a time?
2. How much time do I waste each day worrying about the past or the future?
3. Do I wake up each morning with excitement about the new day?

Keeping together is progress. Working together is success. - Henry Ford

I allow myself outside of my comfort zone and appreciate all the rewards that are available to me.

Stepping outside of my comfort zone from time to time opens up a whole new world of possibilities to me. Although I can receive many rewards while staying warm and cozy inside my comfort zone, I realize that venturing out of it can bring even more!

My comfort zone has all the comforts of home. Inside my home I feel confident and self-assured. I know where everything is and arrange it according to my own likes and dislikes. I am in control of my life when I am inside my home.

I know that once I step outside my home, things change. Life can throw unexpected challenges at me, yet even with such a risk, I know that I could never live my life inside my home only. That would be too limited and confining!

In the same way, I understand that living life inside my comfort zone confines me to a very narrow spectrum of experiences. Although I am comfortable and confident there, where is the excitement? Do I really want to limit myself like that? Of course not!

When I allow myself to get out, I find that it can be fun. I can go on new adventures and meet all kinds of new people. I can develop new talents and skills that I never knew I had. And I can learn new things that I never even imagined before.

With this in mind, today I plan to let myself out of my comfort zone and reap new rewards like never before. I feel such freedom and excitement about my new outlook that I know I can overcome any minor setback on my path to fulfillment.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. What holds me inside of my comfort zone?
2. How can I allow myself out?
3. What rewards have I received when I’ve ventured outside my comfort zone?

A. Milne

I actively look forward to new adventures, even if they are outside my comfort zone.

I love having new adventures! They bring excitement, lessons, new skills, and passion to my life. Even if the adventure includes going outside of my comfort zone, I am most willing to give it a shot. Who knows? I may find something new to enjoy!

Sometimes I feel like a wide-eyed kid in a toy store for the first time. So many new things to see and do! Only now I am grown and the world is my toy store. My main question is: How do I choose what to try out first?

Life is just too short to stand on the sidelines and let it pass me by. Life isn’t a spectator sport. I want to be where the action is! After all, I only get one shot at this, so I want to make every moment count. One way I accomplish this is by pursuing new adventures.

I know that embracing new adventures also means going outside of my comfort zone from time to time, and I look forward to this. I also realize that, while it may be scary, going outside of my comfort zone can also bring great rewards.

Delving into totally unfamiliar territories expands my limits. In the process, I learn new skills, meet new friends, discover new talents, and ignite new passions.

Even if I do not have the time or money to travel often, I can find new adventures right in my own backyard. Anything different can be an adventure. I can try a new restaurant, take a class to learn a new skill, or even build a new business.

Today, I choose to actively seek new adventures, do something I have never done before, and relish every moment of it.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. How much time do I spend just sitting and watching life pass my by?
2. Do I seek new adventures, including those outside of my comfort zone?
3. What can I try for my next adventure?

I know when to leave work at work.

I pursue everything in my life with passion; however, I keep myself from overdoing it. I know that too much focus in one area distracts me from other areas. I strive to maintain a balance so I can fulfill my desires in every aspect of my life.

I recognize that keeping everything in moderation brings good consequences. I can control my actions so I can enjoy these positive results every day.

Take eating, for example. I love food! I enjoy trying new foods and savoring the unique flavors. I also know that if I overeat, it interferes with my desires for a healthy, fit body. So I eat in moderation for fulfillment in both areas.

My passion for my work brings me many rewards. But I also recognize that leaving work behind at the end of each workday lets me pursue my passions in my personal life: hobbies, family, and leisure activities. So I work in moderation to allow time for all.

I thoroughly enjoy being with the love of my life! I also realize that saying ‘see you soon’ for part of the day builds anticipation when we meet again. Moderation keeps excitement in our relationship so our time together is even more fulfilling.

My time with my children is joyful. However, we give each other the freedom and support to pursue our own goals with focus and passion, knowing that fulfillment in every area makes our time together a whole lot more fun.

Today, my plan is to schedule time for work, family, and leisure activities, giving equal importance to each. This way I can thoroughly enjoy myself and end the day with a great feeling of accomplishment and fulfillment.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. Do I leave work behind at the end of my workday?
2. Am I giving equal importance to my leisure time each day?
3. Which area of my life could use more focus so I can regain balance?

No one is perfect and striving to be superhuman only brings stress and disappointment. As the thought dissipates, so, too, do the pressure and stress I had put upon myself.

I can do an excellent job in my work without requiring that every project be absolutely perfect. When I think about it, I realize that any project, no matter how good, can always be improved upon in some way. So the pursuit of perfection is insatiable.

I can receive wonderful results in other areas of my life without having to be perfect.

Spending time with my spouse and children brings all of us joy. I do not have to be perfect to love and be loved. My family members do not have to be perfect for me to love them. We love each other because of who we are, faults and all.

Wouldn’t life be boring if everyone were perfect? Our unique qualities bring variety and excitement to life. In the same way, wouldn’t I be boring if I were perfect? I see now that being imperfect is more than just fine. It is very good!

Striving to be flawless is counterproductive to living a fulfilling life. Why spend time working toward an impossible goal when I could be using that same time to achieve goals that are real?

Rather than adding to my stress with impossible goals, I choose to fill my life with gratitude, peace, and happiness.

Today, I choose to be imperfect! I set achievable goals that I know I can accomplish and I feel great about them. I feel free to accomplish my goals now that the burden of perfectionism has been lifted.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. Do I require perfectionism from others or myself? Why?
2. Do I feel I deserve to be loved, even though I’m imperfect?
3. What are my goals today? Can I achieve them without being perfect?
